HE extraordinary fascination which the stars exercise over

The heart and mind of man would appear to be common to all

ages. From the earliest times the stars have been studied with intelligence and enthusiasm by people in all stations of life, and many out-of-doors workers especially learned to recognise the different aspects of the heavens through the changing seasons of the year. În recent times our technical knowledge of the stars has enormously increased, chiefly owing to the production of more powerful telescopes, but Sir Francis Younghusband says that this is not all. He endeavours to explain, in his new volume, Life in the Stars, his belief that the stellar world as a whole is spiritual. He gives grounds for his conclusion that on some planets exist beings the sum of whose influence affects us on the spiritual plane, just as on the physical plane we are affected by the light and heat from the sun. A powerfully imaginative book.
