This gentleman having removed to Chicago, the undersigned was chosen as his illogical successor. He tackled the job with misgivings, but found it rather to his liking, as it afforded him an outlet for some of his youthful exuberance. In looking over his office file, the Editor is inclined to feel fairly well satisfied with the year's work. A modest sixteen pages, printed on "economical" paper, has been gradually improved until some rather complimentary expressions have been received from people who know a good Journal when they see one. Financially, we have not quite realized the mark we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year. It was believed that the Journal could be made self-supporting. We are still of the same opinion. The Journal has tried to find itself during the past year and feels that it has made substantial progress during its infancy. It now enters the period of growing pains and wild oats. It's up to the membership of the Engineers' Club and Associated Societies to lead it in the way it should go. The Editor and Business Manager most earnestly solicit co-operation. Increased advertising will provide the wherewithal for material betterment, and advice, counsel and suggestion will aid in securing to the engineers of St. Louis a worthy medium of expression.
