This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated February 18, 1969 directed to Mr. E. V. Klein, President of National General Corporation.

We are counsel for National General Corporation and have been designated as their representative to deal with the Subcommittee staff. Specifically, Senator Thomas Kuchel and I will be gathering the requested documentation. As of this writing, we have requested our client to start gathering the requested material and they are in the process of doing so.

As I informed Mr. Hartkins in our telephone conversation of this date, I hope that we shall have some material together within the next two weeks. As soon as we have the required information, either Senator Kuchel or I will call Mr. Hartkins for a meeting. We will present what

we have and advise him of how long it will be before we can fully comply.
