The Legacy of Nazism: The Economic and Social Consequences of TotalitarianismMacmillan Company, 1943 - 288 páginas The totalitarian state is total in that it dominates and engulfs every aspect of social organization and of individual life. The war being fought is not merely being fought on land, sea, and in the air--it is fought with social systems, by social systems, and through social systems. The book examines the extent of changes that have resulted from that war on the world economic system, as it has been exposed to a totalitarian economy, a system utterly opposed to rationalism, liberalism, individualism, and all the other fundamentals of a business economy. This examination is necessitated by the changes that will occur in the aftermath, taking into account the factors which constitute economic organization, and how best to adapt them in the wake of calamity. |
