A SOUND EDUCATION is one of the most valuable assets in life

THE EXPENSE may be GREATLY REDUCED
by making the necessary provision in advance

The

EDUCATIONAL ASSURANCE SCHEME

of the

SCOTTISH PROVIDENT INSTITUTION is designed to provide a fixed sum for a given number of years

Advantages of the Scheme

THE State encourages the making of such a provision by allowing relief of Income Tax at half the standard rate on the amount of premium payable, up to one-sixth of the Assured's Income, with the sole proviso that, if the rate of premium exceeds 7 per cent. of the sum assured, the relief is allowed on 7 per cent. only.

IF the parent die within the specified period, payment begins at once (when the money may be most needed) or, if wished, it may be deferred till the expiry of the period, when the instalments will be increased by the allowance of compound interest.

IMMEDIATELY the instalments become payable, either at death or on survivance, they may, if desired, be commuted for a single cash payment.

Ar any time during its currency the policy may be surrendered for its cash value, or a paid-up policy may be obtained for a reduced amount proportionate to the number of premiums paid.

As the maximum amount of premiums payable is much less than the sum payable under the policy, this scheme not only secures a substantial provision in event of death, but proves to be a good investment in event of survivance.
