Contingent Expenses, Executive Council: For legislative printing, one thousand five hundred dollars; for incidental expenses, one thousand five hundred dollars, in all, three thousand dollars.

Printing and Publication of Laws: For printing and binding the laws of Porto Rico, including the Annual Register, to be expended by the disbursing officer of the Legislative Assembly under the direction of the Secretary of Porto Rico, upon the approval and authority of the Executive Council, three thousand dollars.

Salaries, House of Delegates: For thirty-five members, for sixty days at five dollars per day each; secretary, one thousand eight hundred dollars per annum; interpreter and translator, one thousand eight hundred dollars per annum; stenographer and typewriter, one thousand five hundred dollars per annum; sergeant-at-arms, one thousand dollars per annum; typewriting clerk for office of the Speaker, eight hundred dollars per annum; messenger, three hundred and sixty-five dollars per annum. For temporary employees during the session of the Legislative session; assistant clerk during the legislative session three hundred and fifty dollars; engrossing clerk, during legislative session, two hundred and forty dollars; three translators, during legislative session, at three hundred and fifty dollars each; four typewriters during legislative session, at one hundred and eighty dollars each; two messengers, during legislative session, at sixty dollars each; in all, twenty thousand two hundred and forty-five dollars.

INSULAR POLICE OF PORTO RICO.

Salaries, Insular Police:

For the Chief, whose military title shall be that of Lieutenant Colonel, two thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars; the Assistant Chief, whose military title shall be that of Major, two thousand dollars; six Captains, at one thousand five hundred dollars each; one first Lieutenant and paymaster, one thousand four hundred dollars; one first Lieutenant and Adjutant, one thousand dollars; six first Lieutenants, at one thousand dollars each; one second Lieutenant and bandmaster, nine hundred dollars; seven second lieutenants at nine hundred dollars each; twenty sergeants, at six hundred dollars each; seventy-five Corporals, at four hundred and eighty dollars each; six hundred privates or guardsmen, at three hundred and sixty dollars each; in all, two hundred and ninety three thousand, thousand, three hundred and fifty dollars.-Provided:

That Section 23 of the Act entitled, "An Act to provide for the regulation and government of the Insular Police of Porto Rico," approved March 1, 1902, is hereby modified in so far as to authorize the appointment of an assistant chief of the Insular Police of Porto Rico.

Contingent Expenses, Insular Police: For transportation, ten thousand dollars; stabling, keeping and shoeing twenty horses, veterinary attendance and medicine,

Salaries, Office of the Attorney General: For the Attorney General, four thousand dollars; Assistant Attorney General, two thousand five hundred dollars; chief clerk and disbursing officer, two thousand dollars; law clerk, one thousand five hundred dollars; attorney for Superior Board of Health cases, one thousand two hun dred dollars; interpreter and translator, one thousand and six hundred dollars; secretary and stenographer, one thousand five hundred dollars; one stenographer at one thousand and four hundred dollars; two stenographers at one thousand two hundred dollars each; two clerks at one thousand dollars each; three clerks at nine hundred dollars each one of whon shall have charge of criminal statistics; one janitor, three hundred and sixty dollars; two messengers at three hundred and sixty dollars each; in all, twenty-three thousand eight hundred and eighty dollars.

Contingent Expenses, of the Attorney General: For blank books, stationery, office supplies, cablegrams and incidental expenses, seven hundred and fifty dollars; purchase of law books, five hundred dollars; purchase of law book cases, furniture and typewriting machines, four hundred dollars; for printing briefs, rulings and decisions, six hundred and fifty dollars; in all, two thousand three hundred dollars. OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF PRISONS.

Salaries, Office of the Director: For the Director of Prisons, two thousand four hundred dollars; chief clerk and disbursing officer, one thousand five hundred dollars; one clerk and translator, nine hundred dollars; messenger, three hundred and sixty dollars; in all, five thousand one hundred and sixty dollars.

Contingent Expenses, Office of the Director: For transportation of prisoners, including travelling expenses of Director of Prisons, one thousand dollars; incidental expenses, including furniture, ice, telephone, and office supplies, three hundred dollars; in all, one thousand three hundred dollars.

Salaries, Penitentiary: For the Warden, one thousand eight hundred dollars; deputy warden, one thousand two hundred dollars; storekeeper, six hundred dollars; storekeeper, six hundred dollars; physician, six hundred dollars; practicante, four hundred and eighty dollars; bookkeeper, six hundred dollars; master shoemaker, seven hundred and twenty dollars; master tailor, seven hundred and twenty dollars; master carpenter, seven hundred and twenty dollars; master hatter, four hundred and eighty dollars; chief turnkey, six hundred dollars; two turnkeys, at four hundred and eighty dollars each; four prison corporals at one dollar per month each; thirty prison corporals at fifty cents per month each; in all, nine thousand seven hundred and eight dollars.

Contingent Expenses Penitentiary: For food for five hundred and fifty prisoners, at not exceeding thirteen cents per day, twenty-six thousand one hundred and sixty nine dollars; clothing for nine hundred prisoners, at not exceeding six dollars each, five thousand four hundred dollars;

saving fund, one thousand two hundred dollars; medical supplies, one thousand two hundred dollars; purchase of raw material for manufacturing articles for sale, two thou sand five hundred dollars; for purchase of tools of all kinds, machines, apparatus for the use of the various industrial establishments, and photographic supplies, one thousand five hundred dollars; incidental expenses, fuel for culinary purposes, tobacco and stamps for convicts, oil, furniture, soap, material for repairs, and all expenses not otherwise specifically provided for, four thousand dol lars; in all, forty-one thousand nine hundred and sixtynine dollars.

Salaries, San Juan Jail: For the Jailer, one thou sand dollars; assistant Jailer, four hundred and eighty dollars; female turnkey, three hundred and sixty dollars; physician, four hundred and eighty dollars; practicante, three hundred and sixty dollars; two male turnkeys, at three hundred and sixty dollars each; in all, three thousand four hundred dollars.

Contingent Expenses, San Juan Jail: For food for two hundred and fifty prisoners, at not exceeding thirteen cents per day, eleven thousand eight hundred ninetyfive dollars; medical supplies, eight hundred dollars; lighting, four hundred dollars; incidental expenses, two thousand dollars; in all, fifteen thousand and ninety-five dollars.

Salaries, Ponce Jail For the jailer, seven hundred and twenty dollars, physician, four hundred and eighty dollars; practicante, three hundred and sixty dollars; two turnkeys, at three hundred and sixty dollars each; in all, two thousand two hundred and eighty dollars.

Contingent Expenses, Ponce Jail: For food for two hundred prisoners at not exceeding thirteen cents per day, nine thousand five hundred and sixteen dollars; rent of building, six hundred dollars; medical supplies, three hundred dollars; furniture fifty dollars; lighting, two hundred and forty dollars; incidental expenses, five hundred dollars; in all, eleven thousand two hundred and six dollars.
